William Mwale, a Lilongwe based young fine
artist of Malawian nationality. He was born in Zimbabwe, and was raised in
Botswana and Malawi. William found his passion art in late 2004. His work is
largely self-taught but he had a mentor who helped him tap into his natural
born talent.
He has since taken part in various exhibitions
such as the WESM annual exhibitions, VAAM, Solo Exhibitions and WAPI showcases.
He has sold art to various collectors from Malawi, Zambia, Japan, UK and USA. He
specializes in Realism on medium pencil on paper. William’s art work can be seen at La Carvena
in Blantyre and La Galleria in Lilongwe. He draws his inspiration from nature and
the environment. He is also inspired by Malawian people, culture and wildlife.
The three artworks available are subjects who
he encountered; a baby about to crawl, a young boy playing with a tyre and a
girl role playing as a mother with a baby doll on her back pounding maize.

Maclean on Thu, 04/08/2010 - 11:06Dude, your work is absolulately amazing! I break a small tree for you (literal translation from a Malawian phrase "Ndakucholera kantengo").
FANTASTIC!!
B9TRIBECA on Thu, 04/08/2010 - 10:50Fantastic work man!! The realism is astounding to watch. I used to be a traditional artist myself but was never really good at it. These days I am a digital artist.I make my work as a hobby and sometimes I post them in a prominent art community website just for comments. I do have great admiration that you're making a living out of your work, which can be very difficult for Malawian artists. I hope I can do the same some day.
