The Very Best are a new age fusion of electronic pop and African rhythms.  A collaboration between Malawian born lead singer Esau Mwamwaya and European producers Radio Clit, The Very Best guarantee and demand head nodding and hip swaying action in their debut album “The Warm Heart of Africa.” The trio recently performed at Lake Of Stars Music festival 2009. The album boasts of tracks such as Kada Manja, Kamphopo, Nsokoto, Ntende Uli and the impressive collaboration with M.I.A Rain dance. Influenced by kwaito, hip hop, indie rock, kwasa kwasa and afro and western pop, The Very Best’s music can be described as the globalization of pop. Esau’s cross cultural approach should be commended on this album for he laces his songs with his local Chichewa lingua, Tumbuka, Yao, French and Spanish. By far this debut is magnificently the very best out there!
