Why is it bad a girl gets a bad rep, while a bad boy gets the girls? Is it a natural law or just society’s twisted ways? I guess that’s a wonder I will leave to the philosophers. Meanwhile your favorite groupie is on a mission. She has temporarily moved away from the hip hop world with all its beef and egos, one would think they were not nurtured enough growing up. No, my sisters and brethren this time we are going hard core. Into the midst of the unknown unknown; okay, let me not dramatize, I have recently discovered the Malawian rock star, so please allow me to introduce myself; I am your biggest fan.
Rock stars are by far the biggest entertainers in the world and it was with glee that I discovered Ernest, the lead in a band called Mafilika. He is tall, dark, dreadlocked, has that wild x appeal and plays a mean guitar. I would say not bad looking; his riffs compensate for any other doubts. He is the shy type but rocks the crowd when moved. What is the fascination you ask? He is a rock star period! He does not need anything else, like Michael Jackson on stage, soon the girls will faint!
As an entertainer one gets to discover that it is not about the person, it’s about their stage presence. Let me sight a few examples, Steve Tyler from the Aerosmith, mmmmh yeah my point exactly, but ask him about his groupie stats in counting, there are a plenty. The same goes for Sir Mick Jagger; one would have thought ‘gosh even him?’ okay maybe something closer to home Eddie Grant (please feel free to have your say), is that warmer? The honest truth is if he has a voice, a guitar, has loyal fans and is part of a band; anything else just gets swept away. And uuuh how can I forget the rest of the band! They always made the lead singer evener hotter, I guess that’s why bands end up breaking up. Mafilika has a variety of eccentric men; I must say something for everyone. However, there is one brown eyed boy. He is rather nice, looks like a church boy, but don’t all good boys have a bad side? Mmmmh, something we can all speculate, fortunately I am not a tabloid just a groupie! Lol!
I have not been as aggressive in making my presence felt with Ernie, yes, I call him that now, as I did with those L’s boys but it’s a working progress. Who knows, he just might write a song about me.
Until next time,
Your groupie xoxo
