You are a banned entity, persona non gratis, my history is nothing.
They make me rise with a white sun.
Fare thee well, my grandfather's struggle, my father's revolution, i am but a child born in new foreign times, left to wander aimlessly with no place to return, to wonder whether this land will still be mine.
Fare thee well!
Hail To My Flag, you memories still hold and you will not be forgotten.
The MP's are rushing things. Sure it's a great idea to change the flag and all, but it's just too soon to do that for Malawi is still a relatively young democratic county. I feel that the flag should be changed when Malawi finally becomes a country to be reckoned with both economically and socially in the world's stage.
A flag is a heritage, its a symbol of what a country is, and our current flag encompasses all the things we are, the rising sun/son shows or represents a continous change, a newness, a progress that doesnt stop. If you replace it with a bright white sun, a bright sun is just that, it is constant and the only change its going towards is setting. Is our nation about set, is it tired? No, we are rising everyday, we are growing and dynamic just as the rising sun. All the things people are saying, all comments, blogs and views on radio and the media...are they being heard? I don't know...this is a lament...an ode to my dear flag.
